Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

I worked on Black Ops 3 for under a year in 2015after completing work on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.  I left HMS before completing the project due to an offer to work on Battleborn at Gearbox, but I am still very proud of the work I put into Black Ops 3.

My major responsibilities on Black Ops 3 was primarily assisting Mercenary Technologies and Beenox, who were tasked with reducing the "next gen" ps4/xbox one game into an executable that could run at a reasonable framerate on Ps3 and Xbox 360.  At first, our team at High Moon and I focused on providing training and documentation on our previous successful procedures from Advanced Warfare, but as we neared the deadline, I ended up helping out firsthand quite a bit on several multiplayer maps.

The gap between the platforms was much more pronounced in this title and eventually the difficult decision was made to cut the campaign for the last gen build, due to time and memory constraints.  It was a very disheartening decision at the time but ultimately I am glad we still shipped the game for the old platforms, even if it was reduced greatly.  I also got to meet some great people at Mercenary and Beenox who all put fourth their best efforts despite such a challenge.

There are multiple comparison videos on Youtube that compare our build with the original like the one below.  While some sacrifices were made, the title is running up to speed.
